How much weight will it hold?

We are doing a "Boy's Weekend" next week and I was wondering how much weight does the bunkend beds hold on my 2006 Shamrock 23B. The trip is growing and we may have to double up on the ends. It will be a last resort option but want to check before hand. I don't want to break it just be cause I put two heavy weight friends on it. Any ideas? Thanks! Bill

RE: rockwood Roo faucet swap and shower too??

I changed the shower assembly in my Shamrock. I was trying to increase the volume of water in the shower by drilling a hole in what I thought was a water reducer. Anyway, after I broke it I replaced it with a regular stock replacement assembly and it works fine! In addition, the pressure increased with the new one so it worked out well in the end. Wasn't a difficult job at all.

A Difficult Decison

After returning from our first trip of the season, we made a "family decision" and are pretty sure we will be putting my 2007 Shamrock 23B up for sale. It was a tough decision, like all of you I have put a lot of time, energy, money and as lame as it sounds love in to making it mine. Family commitments, working hours and just a busy life is making it difficult to get out and enjoy it like I should. Anyway, does anyone know where to get an accurate asking price on line? I have looked at a few sites but they haven't really been helpful. I really would like the right person to buy it and to take care of it like I did but I don't want to give it away also. Thanks! Bill

A Real Close Call - Lesson Learned

I am sitting at the Cape Hatteras KOA and wanted to pass along a story of a close call that happened on my way down to the Outer Banks this week. We stopped and I opened the trailer door to get out Windex to clean the bugs off the car windshield. When I was done I put the Windex back inside but neglected to lock the door, I just closed it. I don't know why I didn't do it since I always double lock both of my doors while driving. After driving for about 3 hours, just as I exited the tunnel on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel doing 55 mph my wife screams "the trailer door is open". Sure enough I look in my mirror and the door is flapping in the wind. Luckily I was able to safely pull over and quickly close and lock it without getting killed. Also, very lucky nobody took it off or that I hit something with it and that nothing fell out. Now my question is why did it happen? The only thing I can figure is the suction effect when I entered or exited the tunnel unlatched the door enough for it to open? I tried to recreate it by shaking and pulling on the door but no good. So learn by my mistake, always make sure your doors are locked! I will never do it again. Bill

RE: Wal-Mat Camping

Wow, it appears that the Wal-Mat subject generates as much interesting conversation as the topic of outside speakers :-) I was wondering about it from a safety aspect. We really didn't think we would get the "warm and fuzzy" sleeping in a parking lot. Spent the $100 and stayed in a great Sheraton in Dover, Delaware. Thanks for all the comments and sugestions! Bill

Wal-Mat Camping

We are planning our first trip this year to the Outer Banks of NC. I am looking for a stop on the way down and was wondering about staying in "Camp Wal-Mart". Has any ever stayed in one? I have friends that do in their motorhomes but is it safe to do so in a hybrid? I realize I can stay closed but it would be awful tight. Ideas or suggestions? Should I not be cheap and stop at a hotel/motel or a close (if any) campsite? Thanks! Bill

RE: Campgrounds on the beach in North Carolina

Heading to Cape Hatteras KOA in 2 1/2 weeks. Not on the beach but from what I see, a one minute walk. Can't wait, first trip of 2008!

RE: New Jersey campgrounds

Nice place called Sea Pirate on the mainland, about 8 miles from Long Beach Island, NJ, north of Cape May. Long Beach Island (LBI) is a great family place. We love it there!

RE: some of my wintertime upgrades

Like the LED's. Where did you get them? 110VAC or 12VDC?

RE: Screw Pulled Lose on Bunkend Clamp

Same thing happened on my Shamrock 23B on the FIRST TRIP! After calming down I figured out the repair. I drilled right through, used stainless steel hardware with fender washers inside and it has worked out great! Only problem (of course it didn't go flawlessly)was while drilling I cut through a wire. Ended up being the ground for the rear marker lights which I was able to repair without anymore damage.

RE: chock, leveling and sewer hose questions

As I was reading all the postings and thinking of what tinkering I can do on the camper I thought of this. I use 2x6 pieces to level. I have them cut straight but came up with the brainstorm of cutting an angle the ends, say to a 45 to make it easier to drive up on. I have used them for years this way and can't believe I never thought of this. Any reason I should not do this?

RE: where in upstate New York?

Thought I might have been the first to answer but I was beaten (a couple of times) to the punch. Watkins Glen KOA - We were there last year and it was great!

Cape Cod

Anybody ever camp on Cape Cod? I have been looking for a CG close to the beach and found a few but am wondering if anyone has ever camped there and can recommend a good one? Thanks! Bill

RE: Set-up & Tear Down - explain if really timesaver vs. PUP

I couldn't agree more with all the posted comments. After having two pop-ups, the hybrid is a pleasure! One thing not mentioned is the oven. My wife loves fall camping and making cookies in the oven while camping. Granted, it's just a little bigger than my daughter's old "Easy Bake Oven" it's still a pretty cool thing to do. Bill

RE: Range and Mod on a Concertone Radio

I too have the 2006 23B and yes the radio is not the best...but it works. It is very poor at picking up stations unless you are parked under the transmitter. I removed the stock XM and installed my Sirius satellite and it works great. I too have outside speakers hooked up to the "C" output and I like it (but don't mention it here, it may start a riot) and am thinking about putting a set in the bathroom, but have to convince the DW on their value.
